7 Tips for Helping Children with Stress

Helping Children with Stress

Helping Children with Stress

Like adults, kids also struggle with stress. Too many commitments, conflict in their families and problems with peers are all stressors that overwhelm

American Institute Health Care Professionals‘s insight:

Having Problems Helping Children with Stress?

Stress affects all of us even children.   Child stress is just how it sounds.   It is the stress that a child feels throughout their day.   It can come from school, being bullied, being overscheduled or worse from parents fighting.

How stress affects children is no different from how stress affects adults.  They feel anxiety, depression, stomach problems, etc.   Since they are younger and more immature how they react to this stress can be very different from adults.

Helping children with stress is easy.   They range from simple stress reduction steps like make sure they get enough sleep and give them time to be a kid (play time) to more complicated ones like not overscheduling them.   Overscheduling a child is when you have them doing too much like karate, baseball and other activities.   You can also try teaching your children to listen to their bodies and to learn that everyone makes mistakes.
