Holistic Health Care is should be an important aspect of our diets. With the amount of chemicals and additives that are in processed foods, it is no wonder many people are turning to holistic nursing to help them. Everyone is quick to mix in holistic healthy foods into their diet but reluctant to rid themselves of the ease of processed foods. If people only knew what was in their quick and easy meals! Many times chemicals and additives, that cannot be accurately called a “food source”, are put into soups, dinners, pizzas, breads, etc. Foods that we could be eating everyday have more than just natural ingredients. Writer Melanie Warner, whose new behind-the-scenes-look-at-the-world-of-processed-foods book, Pandora’s Lunchbox, is out this week, spent the past year and a half doing exactly that. In her quest to explore the murky and convoluted world of soybean oil, milk protein concentrates (a key ingredient in processed cheese), and petroleum-based artificial dyes, she spoke to food scientists, uncovered disturbing regulatory loopholes in food law, and learned just how little we know about many of the food products on supermarket shelves.
