Pain management and the need to be a warrior on the gladiatorial scene has led many NFL players to the need of pain pills which ultimately leads to substance drug abuse.  Many players in the NFL fight through the pain and can become addicted to prescription medication.    This follows them after their careers.    Addiction counseling is an important part in any pro athlete’s career.   What other pro sports have this problem?  It cannot just be isolated to the NFL.   Does the NBA, MLB and NHL have the same problems with their athletes and players.    Also what methods do they use?
