Mary Pitzer reflects a trend of cancer patients choosing hospice care over aggressive treatment. “I just wanted to be home,” the Martinez woman said.
More terminally ill patients are opting for hospice and pastoral care for end of lifte treatment than aggressive conventional methods–and the results show a longer life. This is contrast to a stressful hospital environment and all the intrusive procedures. Terminally ill patients respond better to pastoral care and a healthy acceptance of the end.
