Effective Clinical Interviewing-This CE course provides a very comprehensive overview of theories, processes and considerations when conducting a clinical interview.  Four broad areas of clinical interviewing are covered: 1. "Becoming a Mental Health Professional", 2. "Listening and Relationship Development", 3. "Structuring and Assessment" and, 4. Interviewing Special Populations."   Chapters within each area discuss research, theories, cultural issues, ethics, techniques and challenges.  Ultimately the course provides clear and practical knowledge of the clinical interview. This course prepares students with the knowledge and skills to conduct and document a high quality interview and assessment.  Upon successful completion of this course, students are awarded 50 contact hours of continuing education credits.   3. Helping Children with Executive Functioning-This online course provides on in-depth review and study of children with executive functioning difficulties. Students will learn the developmental foundation of executive functioning and the difficulties ADHD children and young adults experience when planning, organizing, controlling impulses, and initiating tasks. Progression in the course  focuses on helping ADHD individuals apply strategies and ways to build skills needed for success. This course offers practical strategies and interventions for professionals working with ADHD children and young adults. An exploration of ways to help children control impulses, make transitions, handle frustrations, start homework and other tasks, handle working memory issues, plan and organize, and monitor their behavior will be discussed in this course.   4. Educating Parents on Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder- This online course continues in the study of practice in Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. It provides for comprehensive learning of more of the current principles and practices of attention deficit. Students undertake an in depth study of the challenges ADHD brings. Students will learn the information they need for ADHD and its treatment. With the latest research and resources, this course contains an immense amount of information and expertise about ADHD, including practical strategies that they can apply to help children promote better behavior, strengthen a child’s academic and social skills,  and manage life with ADHD. Students will learn how to implement rewards effectively and learn which medication is effective in treating ADHD. In addition, they will learn how to prepare for evaluation and learn guiding principles to provide parents with help in raising a child with ADHD. An eight-step behavior management plan designed for 6 to 18 year olds with ADHD will be discussed in the book. By taking this course, students will learn about different support services they can give to parents with ADHD children and suggested readings and videos they can recommend to parents or teachers to better educate themselves on ADHD Course Code: AD 575.
